Tehe I love the title of this post. I was going through some travel photos and came across these and realised that I hadn’t written a post on my layover in Rome, then the title just popped into my head – I refuse to Google it and find out someone else has thought of it before me – and it seemed just perfectly suited – if a little bit cheesy… sorry – because if you were to ask me what my favourite country is I would probably have to say Italy and I had been dying to go to Rome for ages and it is not a city that disappoints. I started off the month with an amazing trip to The Philippines, but sadly the flight was cancelled and I now have five days of “reserve”, which basically means I can be pulled out for any flight if for example another crew calls sick… fingers crossed for something nice.
Then I have a week of leave where I am heading to The Netherlands for my boyfriend’s birthday.
After that things get a little bit more normal… View Post
Africa for me is a fairly mysterious continent that before becoming cabin crew I had never explored. This year I have been lucky enough to visit Cape Town, Nairobi and Harare where I safari-ed and climbed the famous Table Mountain, but a layover in Accra gave me an opportunity to get a glimpse of African life. One of the great things about the company I work for is they have a destination bidding system, which basically means you can bid for destinations that you want to go to – although of course there are no guarantees. I have always wanted to go on an African safari and so I decided to bid for Nairobi, Kenya, because it is well known for being the gateway for some of the best African safaris. Now sadly for me I only had one day so I embarked on a mini safari with three other crew members around the Nairobi National Park and it was a great way to experience a safari without spending a week out in the bush (although I would definitely like to do that when I have more time). There is no doubt about it, Japan is a destination for foodies so I thought I would dedicate an entire post to everything I ate. From sushi to ramen to tea flavoured pastries, Japan has something to delight all taste buds. As an avid sushi eater and tea drinker, I couldn’t wait to get stuck into all the tasty treats, which are available only in Japan, as after all eating different food is one my favourite things to do while travelling.
